The Sacred Pub of the Irish Rite Meeting

Last Tuesday night, after our lodge meeting, 11 members of our Lodge (me included) plus a visitor from Brazil, brother Benedito Lara, opened the Irish Rite Meeting at the Tilted Kilt Pub.

It was a lot of fun, good drinks and confraternization among the Brethren. Here are some photos:

Winter Park Lodge Bowling League

Chris ChagAs part of our ongoing commitment to exercise, Winter Park Lodge 239 F&AM Sports Department has organized a Bowling League!

This Friday night (the 9th of July) we will be meeting at Aloma Bowl on Aloma Avenue, just west of 436. One of our goals is to see if we can keep from making a mockery of this sport of champions. Anbody who has their own ball or shoes is strongly encouraged to "carry the load."

But all are welcome! We need a list of people who plan to participate as soon as possible to send to the bowling alley so they can reserve a few lanes. Please e-mail me or John Halter,john@pack230.com and tell us you are coming!

Friday night at 7PM at Aloma Bowl. RSVP Now!

Masonic Humor

Chris ChagOne day a man goes shooting with some friends, he is given a dog for the day and told that it is a very inexperienced dog but is very willing and will do anything it is told.  Its name was Entered Apprentice.

A few years later the same man went shooting again and asked for Entered Apprentice again, he was told that as the dog was older, with more experience, its name had been changed. It was still a very good dog, not as quick as it used to be but knew what it was doing. Its new name was Master Mason.

A few years later still the man returns and again asks for Master Mason, this time he was told the dog's name had been changed to Past Master but it was no longer a working dog as all it did all day was sit around barking.

Got a joke to share? Send it to the Senior Warden!

From the Secretary's Desk - July 2010

Editor's Note:

Brother Hobie is taking a break from his Secretary duties for a cruise ship vacation.

W. Mark reminds Hobie to be careful of the dance floor. It is very dangerous.

From the South - July 2010

Al StearnsMy brothers as July begins I can't believe the year is half over! It has certainly been busy, but has gone by fast and has been very rewarding. Being your Junior Warden has thus far been a great experience and I have learned a lot. Grand Lodge is by far one of the greatest Masonic events I have ever attended, and I would urge all Masons to attend it if they ever have the opportunity. Additionally, St.Johns day was great fun and I would like to thank everybody who helped me setup and clean up, and a big thanks to Harvey Glen Avery and the Eastern Star for preparing breakfast. Finally, I would like to thank the degree team and congratulate the new Fellowcrafts who were initiated on the 29th. Hope all of you have a great summer!

Al Stearns, Junior Warden
