We have been very fortunate at Winter Park Lodge to have had so many great young men petition our lodge and become Masons here.Our first obligation to these men is to conduct them through the ceremonies of initiation. When you take on a role in a degree, you are participating in an ancient tradition;
in times past, to be “initiated into the mysteries” was a life-changing event. Masonry, on the whole, is life-changing, so the faithful delivery of not only the words, but the meaning, is the wind that fans the flames of passion for learning about our craft, and the desire to channel those passions into the application of our principles to the betterment of the self.
As with any art, the more it is practiced, the better it becomes; the clear transmission of ideas yields the greatest light. Remember that when you volunteer (or are asked) to play a part in one of the rituals. Even the simplest of lines, when spoken with emphasis, have great impact.
