Winter Park Masonic Lodge has always strived to be more accessible to our members.
From the days in the early part of the 20th century when men in Winter Park created a new
lodge that would eliminate late night walks home in the years before paved roads and
electric lights, to this new website, Winter Park 239 continues to provide information to our
Brother Masons and the community we live in. This website provides contact information,
schedules, links and basic information about the great fraternity that we are part of.
Our FAQ page provides some basic information for those who wish to learn more about the
fraternity, while our History page gives information about the Masonic fraternity in general and
Winter Park Lodge specifically. The officers are all available for more information for new
members, building rentals or information for members. The calendar section is the most
complete and up to date list of coming events the lodge has ever compiled. Are you looking for
something you don’t see? Drop us a note and let us know!
As the installation season winds down, activities are starting to ramp up at WPL. Our first big event of the year will be the annual Past Masters and Widows dinner. The dinner this year will be held on February 28 starting at 6:30. The menu will consist of:
Followed with Ice Cream and of course a Cake!
Wor. Phil Bloom will once again entertain us with hits from days past! Transportation arrangements can be made for those needing it. So don't miss the opportunity to come out and socialize with some of the most special members of the WPL Masonic Family!
Ritual work has always been an important part of Masonic life at Winter Park Lodge No. 239. New Masons are welcomed into the fraternity with some of the most accurate and enjoyable ritual work done anywhere. But Winter Park has always worked to make our ritual work even better.
In the state of Florida, if a lodge wants to be crowned as the Best in ritual competition, they need to perform in the lodge room of Winter Park Lodge. For four years, Winter Park has taken its place at as the champion in District Competition, and a contender in Zone competitions against some of the toughest teams in the state.
This year, we're at it again. Ritual competition can only be described as grueling. Every single word and movement is scrutinized. Participants quickly realize that they need to have a strong knowledge of our degree work and be confident in presenting it. In the end, the hours of practice and hard work of more than a dozen members of the lodge results in a crisp, precise presentation of the ancient rituals which all Masons from George Washington and Wolfgang Mozart to the newest members of our lodge have all experienced.
For those who first see our ritual team practice, they might think we don't take the degrees seriously. But we have learned to enjoy our practices. It is possible to have fun and learn at the same time. The competition is exciting but it doesn't match the fellowship that experience. Every year, our team works to get better and better. I encourage the members of Winter Park lodge to come out and join us. We always enjoy it. But if it stops being fun, I'll stop doing it.
