Committee on Lodge Property – May 2009

Chester A. King, PM – Chairman Committee on Lodge Property

No doubt if you have been to the Lodge of late, you have seen how nice the dining room looks after completing the necessary repairs that were needed as a result of water damage over the years that had necessitated replacing parts of the drywall, baseboards and carpet.  We have also added tile near the kitchen to minimize the possible wear and tear to the carpet as a result of food and beverage spills.

If you were wondering what’s next, well the work has continued into the lobby, offices and classroom.  The carpet has been removed, dry wall replaced as needed, and all walls painted.  In an effort to protect the carpet from water and sand at the entrance, we have added tile to the front door area.  All the work that was planned for 2009 will be completed and the lobby dining room, offices and classrooms will have been renovated.  We will finish up outside with gutters and then sit tight until our investments start trending positively and our building fund grows a bit, so we can feel comfortable making the financial commitment to get started on the Lodge room.

To all those who have made donations to the building fund over the past year or so when your support was requested….. Thank You!

My brothers, ladies and friends….. I have every confidence that you keenly realize the expense that has been committed to this long needed renovation, both inside and outside.  After your next visit you will see just how nice the outside walls and the inside look.  I request and encourage you to do one thing in support of the efforts your Committee on Lodge Property has and is continuing to make to return the building to the pristine condition we have become accustomed.

Please pay your dues!  We utilize dues as the cash flow to manage the affairs of the lodge.  Your annual dues are to be paid by the 27th of December each year for the next year.  I beg of you to please get them paid so we can continue to pay our bills and keep our credit in good standing.
Thanks again to all who have participated in various parts of the renovation process and please know that every effort will be made to manage our money cautiously, while at the same time protecting our largest dollar asset….. Our building and the property associated therewith.  See you at Lodge, stop by and take a look!
