Bill ValentinoAfter a blur of activity in June, and a (thankfully) quiet July, it's time again to gear up for the remainder of 2009.

While our first stated meeting is not until Aug. 25th, there will be numerous opportunities to learn and study and fellowship, starting with the Master's & Wardens meeting at Orange Lodge on Saturday the first. For our new brothers, Orange Lodge in Apopka contains the oldest Masonic structure in the state (from 1856), and is interesting in its own right.  But the Masters & Wardens Association is open to all Master Masons, and I encourage you to attend to meet other active Masons from the district.

The School of Instruction will also be held there on the 12th & 26th.  Education is a key part of Masonry, not only the ritual work, but the customs & history.

Winter Park has always had a reputation for excellent degree work, and to uphold that, we need to stay proficient by attending the district school, open books (8/22) and by practices - which we have scheduled for the first three Tuesday of August in preparation for holding three degrees in September.  So, even if you haven't been specifically asked to do a part in a degree, come out for the practices and learn, and you will find yourself contributing in the very near future! -

Fraternally,

Bill Valentino, Worshipful Master
